Corby marijuana queen to pardon Five Years

Jakarta: The convict Queen of marijuana, Schapelle Leigh Corby, received a reduced sentence of five years in prison after President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono signed the pardon on May 20 last. According to State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, clemency letter was sent to the Denpasar District Court. "Signed for about two days ago. Already we send," said Sudi at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (22/5).

Sudi added, granting clemency based on the consideration of many parties. "We ask for consideration of the Chief Justice and the relevant ministers," said Sudi. "Many of our citizens in Australia get the same thing."

As is known, Corby was found guilty 20 years in prison in 2004 after being convicted of smuggling 4.2 kilograms of marijuana in Bali. Concerns affecting women from the Gold Coast, Queensland, this could be the media attention and public Indonesia and Australia
