Podolski No Tolerance Started career at Arsenal

Lukas Podolski admitted not wait to start his career at Arsenal.

German national team striker enjoyed a remarkable season in the Bundesliga. He bagged 18 goals, although the club is defended, FC Koln, relegated next season.

"Arsenal are a big club, here in Europe, and around the world," he said, as quoted by Arsenal.com on Monday (5/14/2012).

Podolski said, negotiating his transfer to Arsenal took place very quickly.

"I had an excellent season with FC Koln. I will be playing in Euro 2012. After that, I will join my new colleagues at Arsenal. It is my goal, do your best and be successful there," he added.

Podolski admitted, Per Mertesacker is influenced his decision to move to a club nicknamed Gunner.

"I spoke with Per every time we met, and we kept in touch by phone as well," he said.

Per, said Podolski, many organizations talk about Arsenal, where training, as well as fans.

"Maybe it's all influenced me to some extent. But, ultimately, of course my own decisions," said Podolski.

"I've been told, that this is a club with great tradition and history. This is a club which has always been among the top four in the Premier League, the stadium is fantastic, fantastic player, and large fans, which only confirms all the things I've feel, "he explained.

Podolski may have been captivated by the history of Arsenal's impressive. However, Arsene Wenger's reputation is also a key factor behind his decision to join the Emirates Stadium.

"It (Arsene) also plays an important role. Arsenal are a big club, and Arsene Wenger has been a very successful coach, both in Europe and around the world," he said.
