South Korean teenage rape, sentenced to 10 years U.S. Army

A soldier in the United States (U.S.), was jailed for six years by the Court of Seoul, for raping a teenage girl, in the last year.

Soldiers Kevin Robinson, 21, was convicted of raping a 17-year-old woman, at her home in Seoul in September, said a tribunal spokesman, as quoted by Channelnewsasia, Wednesday (05/09/2012).

It is not known whether he would appeal the verdict was not.

Cases of sexual abuse committed by U.S. troops in South Korea, have repeatedly occurred. In November last year a court sentenced 10 years to a U.S. soldier, for raping a 18-year-old girl in the city of Dongducheon, near the border with North Korea.

In the latest case, a soldier who still held the rank of soldier, took a young woman drinking, and abusing it after getting drunk.

Known, there are, 28,500 U.S. troops stationed in South Korea, and a new issue for the people of the South, although many see their presence is necessary to prevent an attack from the North.
