Expect Turkey To Improve Relations Hollande Paris-Ankara

Turkey welcomed the victory of Francois Hollande in French presidential election defeat Nicolas Sarkozy, Ankara unpopular figure because of the country's efforts menentaang EU membership.

France is one of the obstacles to Turkey's EU membership (EU) under the Sarkozy government, which re-beeulang said Turkey has no place in Europe and hostile to Ankara on issues such as official denial about what he said to the murder of the citizens of Armenia in World War II.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Monday that Turkish leaders have always had better communication with the French Socialist party, the party Hollande.

"They always support us in this issue (EU membership)," said Erdogan told reporters.

"I expect during this mandate we will have better communication that will change the attitude now between France and Turkey, so that we can work together again between the two countries in the process of EU cooperation."


Erdogan accused Sarkozy last year trying to help his election prospects by promoting anti-Muslim sentiment and anti-Turkey with a law that lifted its denial killings of Armenians in 1915 during the Turkish-controlled Ottoman performed.

The draft law was approved with the support of Sarkozy, but the French Constitutional Council in February to cancel it, assign it a violation of freedom of expression.

"We are witnessing a very negative psikap Sarkozy government of Turkey," Erdogan said on Monday.

"I expect the attitude of the French (under Hollande) will be more positive and more constructive."


Sarkozy seems to have a knack for hitting Turkey.

Erdogan welcomed the defeat Sarkozy, reiterated that the French leader had said he would quit politics if defeated in the presidential election.

"But Sarkozy promised not to engage in political activity. Now he is not elected. He must be off!" he said.
