Beijing - The news of Manchester United eyeing Lucas Moura was not a figment. The Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson, confirmed that it is working to bring the midfielder Sao Paulo.
Lucas is one of the young Brazilian players who have touted the brightest prospects. 19-year-old player was reportedly also wanted by Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and Chelsea, but Chelsea was the one who is in pole position to get it.
Ferguson admitted he did want Lucas. But, so far it has not reached any agreement with Sao Paulo.
"That's not true," Ferguson said when asked about rumors a deal worth 26 million pounds in Sao Paulo, as quoted by the BBC.
"We have not reached an agreement for the players," he said.
"We've shown interest, but before we actually reach an agreement, we can not say he is ours," said Ferguson.
Lucas now joined the Brazilian team that will compete at the 2012 Olympics. Although he was only 19 years, he has 15 senior caps for the Selecao.
