California - Facebook acquired Face.com, a start-up that has a website-based face recognition technology.
Citing reports tech site PC World, Tuesday, June 19, 2012, the sale was reportedly completed last May with a value of approximately U.S. $ 100 million, or about one tenth of the value of the acquisition of up to Instagram.
One of the attractions in the making Mark Zuckerberg Face.com that have it are attracted to facial recognition technology that can identify users up in a photo or video.
Face.com also offers a Facebook application called Photo Tagger to identify faces and suggest tag images to the user. This site also makes an iPhone application called Click which can recognize your friends in real-time and create a filter on the image.
